1959 Concordia 39 Yawl SWIFT
SWIFT is the 68th Concordia Yawl built, by Abeking & Rasmussen in 1959. She has been continuously cruised and upgraded, and recently finished her 2026 season of sailing between Rhode Island and Maine.
SWIFT includes multiple features that are unusual for a Concordia, and make her a substantially more convenient cruising platform without sacrificing her traditional character. Examples include:
Cruising upgrades:
Powered anchor windlass with bronze finish, with controls on both the bow and in the cockpit
Halyard fairleads that lead back to the cockpit
Keyed engine ignition, and a modern-style throttle easily accessible from the tiller
Harken self-tailing primary winches with bronze finish
B&G Chartplotter that swivels into view from the companionway, visible from the helm
Recent B&G sailing-optimized displays and sensors
Wash-down socket located near the bow
“Stack pack” style permanent sail covers and lazy jacks for quick and easy main and mizzen dousing and storage; roller jib furling
Radar
Masthead rig (no runners to manage)
