Hurricane Earl Forecast
Sep 3 at 5pm

Earl had a little burst of convection this afternoon but it's still gradually weakening overall. The NHC 5 pm update continues with 70 kts for peak winds at this time but they expect peak winds of 60 kts, just below hurricane strength, when Earl makes its closest approach to ACK and CHH at roughly 2 am. The forecast track is roughly the same, Earl has turned slightly more right to 035 deg since the 2 pm update. The NHC track remains a bit west of the average of the latest guidance model but not by much. The distance from CHH to the forecast center at 2 am will be approximately 52 miles (83 km) and ACK will be slightly closer. As a result, tropical storm force winds are expected although the chances of > 50 kts is a bit less now, in the range of ~ 40% for CHH and 50% for ACK.

Concordia Company, Inc., South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, consists of Concordia Boatyard and Concordia Yacht Sales. Known worldwide for the famous Concordia Yawls, we enjoy a long tradition of repairing, restoring and selling yachts. We will work to exceed your expectations in quality, scheduling and communication. We will be upfront and honest with you. Our business is to help you get the most out of your yachting experience and we are confident that we will do that.

Concordia Boatyard, 300 Gulf Road, employs a team of talented professionals with vast experience, dedication to excellence, and attention to detail. We are prepared to handle any job on all varieties of recreational yachts, power and sail, fiberglass and wood. We are very successful with customers who want the best for their boat, whether it is a new boat or a 40 year old fiberglass boat, a wooden boat, or anywhere in between. Though our prices are fair, you can pay less at other boatyards. We're confident, however, that you won't find a more qualified and diverse talent pool. Many of our employees are themselves boaters. They know first-hand how critical the operation of their boat is to the safety of their family. You will get to know our employees when you bring your boat to Concordia. They will help you build your knowledge of your boat and its systems – building your confidence when you are on the water. Our philosophy is that routine maintenance and service in the off season will increase your chance of a trouble-free season, will add to your boating confidence, and will protect your investment. We are fastidious in our attention to your yacht.

With the re-introduction of Concordia Yacht Sales, 338 Elm Street, we can better help you sell your boat or buy your next. Call or e-mail:
